Kenia
In the slums of Nairobi the fight against HIV/AIDS is particularly urgent: In the shanty towns about ten percent of the adult population is infected by the HI virus. In the past year through Malteser International 24,000 people could be provided with counselling and could be tested for HIV. Read more about the project...

Thailand
In Thailand HIV/AIDS causes the number of orphans to rise. To assist these children, Malteser International supports self-help groups for families affected by HIV/AIDS. Orphans are supported with grants and income possibilities for affected families are enhanced by revolving funds.

Myanmar
In the isolated Wa region on the border with China HIV/AIDS is one of the main health problems: Malteser International supports here not only the diagnosis and treatment of sexually transmitted infections and HIV/AIDS, but also health education and outreach work among the general public.

South Sudan
Since 1998 Malteser International treats patients infected with tuberculosis in health centres and tubeculosis wards. Because of the close connection between tuberculosis and HIV/AIDS, the patients are also offered counselling on HIV/AIDS and to undergo an HIV-test.
