Malteser International is further enforcing its activities in the health post in Leogane. The medical team treats injured patients, provides basic health care and supports vaccination campaigns for children.

Despite their apocalyptic experience the people in Haiti are looking ahead and try to cope with daily life: they set up camps with tarps and blankets, remove debris and ruins, take up small-trade businesses - and they pray.

Malteser International will set up a second health camp in Darbonne– situated a few miles away from Leogane. Mobile medical teams will go to the villages in the surrounding areas to attend the sick and injured.
